CDL Technology provides a wide assortment of screen changer types and sizes. A screen changer is necessary to remove impurities from the polymer flow in many types of extrusion fabrication or compounding operations. This is done in order to remove contamination from and increase the quality of the polymer in use. Not only is the quality of the polymer improved, but also the screen changer can protect downstream equipment by filtering out nuts, nails, and screws from the extrusion process. In some cases, a screen changer also acts as a homogenizer of the melt flow, and depending on screen pack configuration, can improve the dispersion of colorants or additives in the polymer.

Screen changers are used in a wide variety of applications ranging from the production of commodity level polymers to the specialty fabrication of those polymers into end products. Screen Changers are ideal for recycling, pelletizing, and compounding processes, especially when the material is of a recycled form.

Screen changers are available in NEW and REBUILT Models. CDL carries hydraulic, continuous, and manual screen changers. They can be slide-plate, dual bolt, or slide-bolt form depending on the application.

The screen changers are designed to attach to any of our single/twin screw extruders with a leak-free system up to 10,000 psi. CDL has the capability to design the screen changers so the extruder screw can be pulled through while the screen changer is mounted to the barrel.
